The new hardware components NCU 561.4, 571.4, 572.4, 573.4, 561.5, 571.5, 572.5 and 573.5 of SINUMERIK 840D and 840DE have been released and are available from 01/2005. This means that the complete product range of NCUs has been completed (rounded-off) and innovated.
The new NCU components are compatible to the previous components.
NCU 561.x, 571.x, 572.x and 573.4 have, when compared to the previous units, more NC performance/more CNC user memory.
The new NCUs correspond to the requirements according to IEC61508 and can be issued with an NRTL certificate.
The previous NCUs will, over the medium term, be replaced.

The increased performance refers to the computational performance available. Dependent on the technological conditions, this increase in performance goes into the complete result. Faster IPO clock cycles (as a result of faster processors) and lower PLC cycle times result in, in some cases, significantly improved technological results; e.g. shorter unit/clock cycle times, higher speeds for eccentric turning, higher feed rates for mould building.
